At Benchcraft, we take a hands on approach to seeing each and every project through from start to finish… Design, fabrication and installation. We value building strong relationships with clients and work closely with them to develop an all-encompassing understanding to meet their individual needs. We are defined by tried and true construction methods, an attention to detail in workmanship, and an overall dedication to craft. We are fortunate to be surrounded by an outstanding community of fellow cabinetmakers, architects, engineers, designers, contractors, builders, and friends. We are always looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with others who share our values.
Benchcraft founder and owner, Laura Fuoco, spent two years cutting her teeth at the North Bennet Street School in Boston and is a graduate of their Cabinet and Furniture Making Program. The North Bennet Street School is where she learned the importance of hand skills and a profound understanding of the fundamentals of woodworking. She prides herself on incorporating this knowledge into current and contemporary work- namely including her technical veneer skills in our cabinetry. Her appreciation for period furniture grew immensely as she realized the demands of making historic pieces- although she won't deny her affection for mid-century furniture and modern design! Laura lives in Chestnut Hill with her partner John. You can find her hiking with her dog Rookie, weightlifting or doing just about anything active; including racing performance motorcycles at the racetrack… for fun! She has curated many furniture shows at venues including the Lexington Arts and Crafts Center, the Fuller Craft Museum and the Old Schwamb Mill... Her work has been exhibited at the Concord Museum as well as being a guest woodworker- showcasing her talent with veneer- on Tommy Mac's Rough Cut TV show.
Benchcraft is committed to never stop learning and to always exceed expectations. We love what we do and would love to share that with you. ~Laura
